The isothermal shift reactor from Henan Jin Kai was successfully installed. At 15:50 on May 7th, the DN3700 shift reactor, the key component of the isothermal shift transformation project for the first phase of Henan Jin Kai’s second branch company’s purification workshop, was successfully installed, laying the foundation for the early integration of the new and old systems. The converter has a diameter of 3.7 meters, a height of 22 meters, and weighs 275 tons; its large size poses significant challenges for transportation. After a one-month journey across multiple provinces to reach Kaifeng, and through extensive coordination by the group company, it was possible to overcome the limitations of existing road networks and checkpoints, allowing smooth passage through the highway exits; the goods were delivered to the site of the reform project for the converter in the purification workshop on May 2nd. Due to the large size of the converter furnace, lifting it on site poses significant challenges. The company’s leadership attaches great importance to this issue, ensuring strict oversight at every stage – from plan approval and on-site inspections to personnel training and process control, as well as risk analysis and the implementation of corrective measures. They require that relevant personnel prioritize safety during the lifting process while also ensuring timely progress in construction and high quality in installation. To ensure the safe lifting and placement of the converter, various relevant parties conducted multiple surveys and discussions at the construction site in advance, and subsequently developed a scientific and reasonable lifting plan as well as an emergency response plan. Early on the morning of May 7th, staff rushed to the site to carry out all the preparatory work before lifting. At 11:00, once the lifting equipment consisting mainly of 500t crawler cranes and supplemented by 400t truck cranes was in place, the lifting operations for the converter began officially. At 15:50, with the final fine-angle adjustment of the converter, it was finally lifted into place and successfully installed within the framework of the purification unit. The DN3700 shift converter is the key equipment in the isothermal shift transformation upgrade project. Once put into use, it will significantly reduce the conversion resistance of the system, increase the CO conversion rate, boost the ammonia synthesis capacity, address process bottlenecks, and ensure the long-term efficient operation of the system. The next steps will be the construction and installation of the converter furnace frame, as well as on-site pressure testing of the converter furnace.
