On August 7, the drying process and ignition of the first quench gasifier in the 500,000-ton-per-year polymethoxymethane production project carried out by Tianchen Company for Yanzhou Coal Industry Yulin Energy & Chemical Co., Ltd., were completed successfully, marking the official start of operations for this project. At 11 a.m. that day, the fuel gas was successfully introduced to the burner. After confirming that all preparatory conditions were met and that all safety measures were in place, the operators activated the ignition system. In the DCS control room, the process operators worked in coordination with those on the ground to control the amount of steam drawn in and the volume of fuel gas supplied, strictly adhering to the requirements specified in the furnace drying curve in order to ensure the successful completion of the furnace drying process. Since the first gasification furnace was delivered on March 21, the Dimethyl Ether Project Team of Yankuang Yulin has carried out meticulous planning and organization. It took the lead in developing a scientific and thorough furnace drying plan. Through four and a half months of relentless efforts by the owner, supervisor, general contractor, and construction units, the furnace drying and ignition of the first quench gasification furnace were successfully completed in just one attempt, providing a necessary prerequisite for the smooth commissioning of the gasification unit. Next, the project team will actively cooperate with the owner to carry out the 15-day drying process for the first gasifier, while preparing for the drying of the second gasifier. The 500,000 tons per year polymethoxymethane project of Yanzhou Coal Industry Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. is located in Caojiatan Village, Jinjitan Town, Yuyang District, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. The total planned investment for this project is 4.596 billion yuan; construction began in July 2017, and the Yanzhou Coal Yulin project is set to be fully completed by 2019. In November 2016, the project feasibility study was approved for registration by the Yulin Development and Reform Commission. The project has been included in Yankuang Group’s major technical renovation projects, representing an important step in Yankuang’s plan to produce 10 million tons of coal chemical products per year at its base in Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia. The project uses one oxygen generation unit with a capacity of 92,000 Nm3/h ； Gasification is carried out using the multi-nozzle (opposed-type) water-coal slurry gasification technology owned by Yankuang Group, with a total effective gas production capacity of 240,800 Nm3/h. Three gasifiers with a capacity of 2,000 t/d each are installed (2 with quenching systems and 1 with a semi-waste boiler), operating in a 2-on-1-backup configuration ； The purification unit employs the Dalian University of Technology low-temperature methanol washing process ； Methanol synthesis utilizes technology from East China University of Science and Technology ； Distillation utilizes the Tiantai Beiyang five-column methanol distillation technology, with a processing capacity of 5,000 tons per day in total. The construction of the DMMn plant is carried out in two steps: first, a plant with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons is built, and then a plant with a capacity of 400,000 tons is constructed.
