Contract signed for Hohhot Xuyang CNRG Energy Hydrogen Production and Comprehensive Utilization Project (Biological treatment unit for wastewater treatment) Author/Source: Huahua Network Coal Chemicals Date: 2021-03-22 Clicks: 8 Recently, Xuyang Engineering Co., Ltd. and Hebei Xieyu Water Treatment Technology Co., Ltd., as a joint venture, won the bid for Hohhot Xuyang CNRG Energy Co., Ltd.’s 3.6 million tons per year coking-based hydrogen production and comprehensive utilization project (biological treatment unit for wastewater treatment), and the three parties officially signed a general contract. The 3.6 million tons per year coking and hydrogen production integrated utilization project of Hohhot Xuyang Zhongran Energy Co., Ltd. is located within the coal chemical industry zone of the industrial park in Qingshuihe County, Hohhot, on the existing site of Hohhot Xuyang Zhongran Energy Co., Ltd., covering a total area of 695,000 m2. The project plans to build a coking plant with an annual capacity of 3.6 million tons. The coking process will utilize 4×65-hole, 6.78-meter-high single-hearth ramming coke ovens. The main construction elements include the coking plant, a synthetic ammonia plant with an annual capacity of 450,000 tons, and a PSA hydrogen production facility. Additional facilities include 2×260-ton/hour dry quenching units, systems for desulfurization and denitrification of flue gas from the coke ovens, gas purification units, storage areas for raw materials and products, coal receiving pits, and coke storage buildings – all of which are part of the utility and auxiliary infrastructure. The production capacity of this project is 3.6 million tons of dry coke and 450,000 tons of liquid ammonia per year; the by-products include 1.7 billion cubic meters of coke oven gas, 850 million cubic meters of hydrogen, 160,000 tons of coal tar, 50,000 tons of crude benzene, and 60,000 tons of ammonium sulfate. The total investment for the project is 4.8 billion yuan, of which 269.76 million yuan is allocated to environmental protection measures, accounting for 5.62% of the total investment. On September 24, 2020, the 3.6 million tons per year coking and hydrogen production integrated project of Hohhot Xuyang Zhongran Energy Co., Ltd. began construction at the Qingshuihe Coking Circular Park.
