By the end of August, the construction work related to the completion of Phase 1 of Yueneng Chemical Plant was progressing in an orderly manner. On site, the four projects under the EPC general contracting by Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. (PP3 unit, methanol complex, overall plant system, and Main Substation No. 2) are progressing steadily in accordance with the construction plan. At present, the construction of the foundation for the plant’s system utility tunnels and the water supply and drainage systems is nearing completion ; The total construction weight for the external pipe gallery structure is 14,730 tons, with 68.3% of it already completed ; The total length of process pipelines in the external pipe gallery is approximately 270,000 meters, with 18.7% completed so far ; The construction of key projects such as the No. 2 torch, fuel gas station, fifth circulating water plant, and the auxiliary building of the central laboratory is also progressing simultaneously. The civil construction of the PP3 facility has been largely completed, and the installation of equipment and steel structures is currently at its peak. 60% of the steel structures have arrived, and 40% of the installation work has been completed so far. September will be a period of intensive work on equipment and steel structures, with pipeline construction also progressing on a large scale. The key post-treatment JSW extruder is now ready for installation ; Meanwhile, it is planned to lift the core equipment, the “multi-zone reactor”, in late September. The PP3 process is the latest generation of PP production technology developed by LyondellBasell on the basis of the Spheripol I process. Its main feature is the use of a single multi-zone circulating reactor in place of a tubular reactor; it belongs to the category of gas-phase polymerization equipment. It is the fourth such unit in China, filling a gap in the polypropylene processing technology available within the group company. The ground-level equipment and structures for the gasification and purification unit in the methanol complex are nearly complete; 68% of the civil engineering work has been finished. The total weight of the steel structures is around 5,275 tons, with approximately 1,400 tons already installed. There are 388 pieces of mechanical and electrical equipment in total, of which 6 have been installed. Structures such as the gasification framework, heat recovery system, refrigeration station, gasification substation, and gasification cabinet room have all been completed as planned. The construction of the underground pipeline network is also almost finished, with installation work to be the main focus in September. Meanwhile, the civil construction related to the equipment and structures of the methanol synthesis and sulfur recovery units is nearing completion; the main work at present is site leveling ; 96% of the installation of the steel structure for the external pipe gallery is complete, and 95% of the underground pipelines have been installed. It is worth noting that Substation No. 2 was ready to receive power on June 30 of this year; the three-inspections and four-fixations process has been largely completed, and it is now awaiting acceptance. It is reported that in addition to taking overall responsibility for four projects, Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Company, acting as the project’s main design institute, is also responsible for overall design coordination, leadership in technical matters, and providing technical services, as well as ensuring uniform management of technologies and standards. Since the start of the project construction, various project teams have developed detailed construction plans and management regulations for construction activities. They carry out comprehensive and thorough monitoring and management of the construction site and the personnel involved, addressing any issues that arise promptly to keep quality and safety risks under control. The filling and completion works for the first phase of Shaanxi Yanchang China Coal Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. project officially commenced on September 8, 2017. With a total investment of around 14.413 billion yuan, this project uses coal and oil field gas as raw materials. Building on the mature technical expertise gained from the first phase of the Yulin Energy Chemical project and making full use of existing utility facilities, it aims to construct facilities capable of producing 1.8 million tons per year of methanol, 600,000 tons per year of olefins from methanol, 300,000 tons per year of low-density polyethylene/ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, as well as 300,000 tons per year of polypropylene. Yan Chang China Coal Yulin Energy Chemical Company is an integrated coal, oil, and gas conversion project for the production of olefins, jointly invested in by Yan Chang Petroleum Group and China Coal Energy Corporation.
