Recently, the 4 billion cubic meters per year coal-to-natural gas project of Inner Mongolia Huaxing New Energy Co., Ltd. obtained approval from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment for its environmental impact assessment. The project is located in the Shanghai Miao Energy and Chemical Industry Base in Ejin Horo Front Banner, Ordos City. It utilizes the mature coal pulverization pressurized gasification and methanation processes, with an annual production capacity of 4 billion cubic meters of synthetic natural gas; the total investment amount is 24.4 billion yuan. To meet the specific requirements set by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and to increase efforts in emission reduction, Inner Mongolia has significantly cut back on the emissions of pollutants such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, and volatile organic compounds in Ordos City. This action frees up environmental capacity for projects that contribute to high-quality development. The implementation of such projects is of great significance for addressing China’s shortage of oil and gas resources, balancing the energy structure, and ensuring energy security ； It will also create approximately 1,500 direct jobs and generate around 220 million yuan in taxes each year, injecting fresh vitality and sustained momentum into the high-quality economic and social development of the region. Once the project is approved, the environmental protection agencies at the Ordos city level and the Etokeqian Banner level will strengthen supervision during and after the project’s implementation, urging enterprises to fulfill their various environmental protection obligations and their responsibilities for pollution control, thereby achieving continuous improvement in the regional environmental quality ； We will firmly strengthen our commitment to proactive service, ensuring that projects commence, are completed, and come online as soon as possible, so as to make new contributions to the high-quality development of the local economy and the high-level protection of the ecological environment.
