Two units at Tianjin Bohua Chemical have completed successful commissioning! This marks the full commencement of the trial production phase for Tianjin Bohua’s transformation project, with the company officially entering this stage; it represents another significant step forward in the process of bringing the project into full operation. Tianjin Bohua’s project for the relocation and transformation in line with the principles of industrialization and modernization is a major decision taken by the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee and the municipal government to build a \"beautiful and safe Tianjin\", optimize the layout of the city’s petrochemical industry, mitigate risks related to safety and stability, and achieve energy conservation, emission reduction, and environmental improvement ; It is an important measure to improve the development environment in Tianjin Binhai New Area, expand its development prospects, and promote the development and opening up of this area as well as the construction of a world-class petrochemical complex in Tianjin Nangang Industrial Zone. At present, the equipment is operating smoothly, product output is gradually increasing, and product sales channels are unobstructed. The 600,000-ton/year caustic soda plant uses 930,000 tons of raw salt as input to produce 600,000 tons of caustic soda per year, along with 534,000 tons of chlorine gas, 15,000 tons of hydrogen gas, 60,000 tons of sodium hypochlorite, 100,000 tons of 31% hydrochloric acid, and 28,700 tons of liquid chlorine. This facility can reduce annual direct current electricity consumption by 60 million kWh ; The evaporation process utilizes the advanced three-effect counter-current falling-film technology, reducing steam consumption per ton of product by 20% and saving 100,000 tons of steam annually. The 800,000 tons per year PVC plant uses vinyl chloride produced by the VCM plant as raw material to produce PVC through polymerization. It employs Tianjin Dagu Chemical’s own polymerization technology, as well as Ineos’ technology and advanced drying techniques. Compared to the older plant facilities, it eliminates some outdated production processes and equipment, enabling annual savings of 200,000 tons of steam and 56 million kWh of electricity. At the same time, by adding a new mother liquor water recycling unit, pure water consumption is reduced by 1.36 million tons per year. At present, the commissioning work for various projects related to the relocation of Tianjin Bohua’s industrial facilities is progressing steadily. The vinyl chloride plant, which connects the caustic soda plant and the polyvinyl chloride plant, has also begun trial operations, while the various plants at the petrochemical complex are actively carrying out all the preparations needed for trial operations. The relocation and transformation project for Tianjin Bohua’s industrial and chemical operations is located to the south of Xigangchi in the Nangang Industrial Zone of Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area, and to the east of Nangang Sixth Street. On July 18, 2018, the groundbreaking ceremony for this relocation and transformation project was held in Tianjin Nangang Industrial Park by Tianjin Bohua Chemical Development Co., Ltd. It was approved for registration on February 3, 2016, and the environmental impact assessment was granted approval in July 2016; the total investment amounts to 29.4 billion yuan. The project is under the general contracting of China National Chemical Corporation Tianchen, with a focus on developing two major product chains: methanol-to-olefins and ethane cracking to produce ethylene, in order to build a modern high-end industrial cluster. The project will construct 2 × 1.8 million tons per year methanol-to-olefins (MTO) units, 300,000 tons per year polyethylene (PE) units, 2 × 300,000 tons per year polypropylene (PP) units, 600,000 tons per year ion-exchange membrane caustic soda units, 800,000 tons per year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) units, 60,000 tons per year ethylene oxide (EO) units, 40,000 tons per year surfactants (EO, AEO) and water-reducing agents (PEG) units, a 200,000 tons per year propylene oxide unit coupled with a 450,000 tons per year styrene (PO/SM) unit, 100,000 tons per year polyether PPG units, 30,000 tons per year polymer polyols (POP) units, and a 100,000 tons per year hydrogen peroxide unit.
