Dongyi Group held a grand ceremony at the site of its second-phase coking project to carry out the heating and ignition process for Furnace No. 1 of this project, which has a capacity of 1.44 million tons per year. On the morning of October 20th, Dongyi Group, a member of the Lüliang Coking Industry Association, conducted this ceremony at the site of the second-phase coking project. The chairman of Dongyi Group, the president of the Coking and Electricity Business Unit, the executive director of the Second Coking Plant, all employees of the second phase of coking production, as well as representatives from the construction and supervision companies attended the ceremony. At the ceremony, the executive commander of Coking Plant No. 2 delivered a speech, while the president of the Coke and Electricity Business Unit announced the start of the lighting ceremony. At 11:48, accompanied by the sound of firecrackers, in the No. 1 coke oven room of the second phase of coking, Qiao Yadong, president of the coking power division, pressed the key button representing the ignition of the coke oven. The ignition of the coke oven marked the preparation stage before the second phase of the coking project was about to start production. The second phase of the coking project began in September 2017. Since its start, all parties involved have worked diligently without slack, and through measures such as strengthening the construction workforce and optimizing construction plans, they managed to complete the construction and installation of the main components of the coke ovens in 613 days, thus proceeding smoothly to the furnace drying stage. The smooth ignition of coke oven #1 marks another new achievement in the development of the coking chain of Dongyi Group, and also indicates that it is a step closer to the production target by the end of the year. With the official completion of the ignition and furnace heating ceremony, it signifies that Phase II of the project is nearing its end. During the subsequent furnace drying process, the project department of Dongyi Group will continue to cooperate actively in carrying out all aspects of furnace drying management to ensure the successful achievement of the production start-up target by the end of the year.
