The installation work for the 100,000 tons per year syngas-to-ethanol production technology demonstration project in Shaanxi Xinghua passed the on-site inspection for the China Installation Engineering Quality Award. Date: 2019-10-25 Clicks: 25 Recently, a team of four members from the China Installation Engineering Quality Award inspection team conducted an on-site inspection of the installation work for this project, which was carried out by Shaanxi Huajian Company on behalf of Shaanxi Xinghua Group Co., Ltd. The reinspection team completed the on-site reinspection successfully after two days of intensive and organized on-site audits and document checks, by examining the quality of the actual project structure and the relevant documentation related to its legality, conducting random inspections of the completion documents, and listening to the opinions of the construction, design, and supervision agencies regarding the project quality. Through on-site re-inspection, the re-inspection team gave high praise to the quality of the actual project and the completeness of the documentation. They unanimously agreed that the project in question features advanced technology, high installation precision, and complete approval procedures; moreover, its technical management and quality assurance documents, as well as the documents related to completion inspection and record-keeping, are all complete and in order. It meets the evaluation criteria set by the organizing committee for the China Installation Engineering Quality Award (China Installation Star), and they agreed to recommend it to the China Installation Star evaluation committee. It is reported that the 100,000 tons per year synthetic gas-to-ethanol technology demonstration project carried out by Shaanxi Xinghua Group Co., Ltd. is the world’s first industrial project to produce ethanol from coal as a raw material. The operation of this project makes it possible to promote the use of ethanol-based gasoline on a large scale in China. It has opened up new approaches for the development of a green and low-carbon energy chemical industry; it represents another significant breakthrough in the application of advanced technologies in China’s new coal chemical industry. It will help to compensate for the shortage of oil resources, reduce China’s dependence on grain for fuel ethanol production, and thus provide strong support for both energy security and food security in the country. It holds great strategic importance for China’s supply-side structural reforms as well as the development of emerging strategic industries.
