Luan’s 200,000-ton high-density fuel project enters a new phase Author/Source: Luan Group Date: 2019-12-03 Views: 29 A few days ago, the main construction of the tank farm for Luan Group’s project to produce 200,000 tons per year of high-thermal-oxidation-stability high-density aviation kerosene and diesel was completed, marking a new stage in the development of this project. From the start of construction of the project’s tank area on November 1 to the completion of the main structures, only 25 days were required. During the construction process, the project team introduced innovations in construction methods and management, adopting new approaches and concepts. The welding of the main body of the storage tank for this project was carried out using an inverted alignment method. While ensuring safety, the project utilized double-crane tank lifting techniques, which not only reduced costs but also improved the efficiency of tank installation; it was possible to install 3–4 panels per day. Moreover, all work was conducted on the ground, eliminating the need for work at heights and thus ensuring construction safety. To ensure the proper organization of construction activities, the project adopted a two-shift system, operating during both day and night; welding work on the interior and exterior of the tanks was carried out simultaneously. To guarantee smooth coordination among all aspects of the construction process, the project team worked closely with the contractors to arrange for the necessary construction equipment and personnel to be deployed on site. During peak construction periods, the number of workers and equipment used increased by more than 20% compared to normal levels, and dedicated personnel were assigned to oversee the site to ensure that every detail of the construction was carried out in strict accordance with the specified requirements. It is understood that the 200,000 tons per year production facility for high-heat oxidation stability high-density aviation kerosene and diesel is located in the Xiangyuan Economic and Technological Development Zone in Changzhi City, Shanxi Province. It covers an area of 60 mu and represents a new fine chemical project established by the group. The company’s future products are liquid hydrocarbon fuels with high density and high calorific value. With the rapid development of China’s aviation industry and various types of equipment, higher requirements have been placed on the quality of fuel. Under extremely harsh conditions, equipment demands even higher performance standards for fuel as well as improved reliability in terms of fuel supply. The early commissioning of this project holds significant strategic importance.
