Signing of the EPC General Contract for the PBAT Plant of Xinjiang Wangjinglong New Materials’ PBAT Project / Author/Source: Coal Chemical Engineering 114 Forum Date: June 26, 2020 Clicks: 31 On the morning of June 23, China National Chemical Engineering Corporation No. 13 and Xinjiang Wangjinglong New Materials Co., Ltd. held a solemn signing ceremony in the management committee of the Shangku Comprehensive Industrial Park in Korla for the EPC general contract related to the project for producing 100,000 tons of PBAT per year as well as the PBAT plant capable of producing 1.2 million tons per year. The Xinjiang Wangjinglong New Materials Co., Ltd. project, which involves an annual production capacity of 1.3 million tons of PBAT (biodegradable material), is located in the Korla Petroleum and Petrochemical Industrial Park in Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang. It covers an area of 3,875 mu, and its construction scale includes facilities for producing 1.3 million tons of PBAT per year (with the initial phase involving an annual production of 100,000 tons of PBAT, and two additional units capable of producing 600,000 tons each); facilities for producing 400,000 tons of ethylene glycol per year using the second-generation high-pressure carbonylation technology developed in Shanghai; facilities for producing 500,000 tons of oxamide per year – a type of pollution-free slow-release fertilizer; facilities for producing 200,000 tons of POM (polyoxymethylene) per year; as well as facilities related to hydrogen energy production. The total investment in this project amounts to 30 billion yuan. Once completed, the project will provide employment for over 1,000 people in the local area. The signing of this contract marks that Wangjing Long Company’s project to produce 100,000 tons of PBAT per year is now ready to commence operations. On May 7, Hualu Technology and Xinjiang Wangjinglong New Materials Co., Ltd. held a signing ceremony for the contract regarding the overall design of a PBAT production project with an annual capacity of 1.2 million tons, marking the official start of the overall design work for this project. Guo Shezeng, chairman of Xinjiang Wangjing Long New Materials Co., Ltd., said that this signing ceremony will accelerate the overall design and preliminary design of the project, ensuring that the overall design is completed by September 2020.
