Construction begins on project to produce 1.2 million tons of ethylene glycol per year along with associated synthesis gas in Lujiang County, Anhui Province / Source: Yaha Coal Chemicals Date: 12-06-2019 Clicks: 8 On December 5, the construction ceremony for a project aimed at producing 1.2 million tons of ethylene glycol per year along with associated synthesis gas was held in the Longqiao Industrial Park in Lujiang County. This project is jointly funded by Zhejiang Tongkun Holding Group and Shanghai Baosteel Gas Co., Ltd. It is understood that the total investment for this project is 11.4 billion yuan, with a total land area of around 1,750 mu. Among this, Shanghai Baosteel Gas Co., Ltd. will build a project to produce 1.2 million tons of ethylene glycol per year, using coal as raw material; the production capacity for synthetic gas will be 2.9 billion standard cubic meters per year ； Zhejiang Tongkun Holding Group is building a project to produce 1.2 million tons of ethylene glycol per year using syngas; the syngas used in this production comes from Shanghai Baosteel Gas. The main construction of the project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in the first half of 2022. Once operational, the project is expected to generate annual revenue of 10.2 billion yuan and annual tax payments of 1 billion yuan. The commencement of this project marks a new phase in the development of the Lujiang Longqiao Industrial Park. The Longqiao Industrial Park in Lujiang is located in the southern part of Lujiang County, Hefei City. It serves as an important platform for the county to develop its \"one core and two wings\" strategy – with the Lujiang High-Tech Zone as the core, and the Longqiao Industrial Park and the Taiwan Innovation Park as the two wings. The total planned area of Longqiao Industrial Park is 24 square kilometers, with the core area covering 8 square kilometers and the initial development zone accounting for 4 square kilometers. Leveraging its unique geographical advantages, this industrial park focuses on developing a circular economy industry centered on coal-based fibers, sulfur-based chemicals, fine chemicals, and new chemical materials, aiming to become a new chemical manufacturing hub in the Hefei economic zone as well as a new driver for industrial economic growth.
