Jingyuan Coal and Electricity Forms New Company to Invest in Coal Chemicals Project Author/Source: Coal Chemicals 114 Forum Date: 2020-05-17 Clicks: 45 Jingyuan Coal and Electricity recently announced that it plans to invest in establishing Jingyuan Coal Industry Group Liuhua Chemical Co., Ltd., in order to fund the construction of a project for the comprehensive utilization of clean and efficient gasification gases at Jingyuan Coal and Electricity (for relocation and renovation purposes). The registered capital of Jingmei Chemical Industry is 1 billion RMB (the exact amount is subject to the official business registration records). The announcement states that the purpose of these foreign investments is to support the Jingyuan Coal and Electricity Clean and Efficient Gasification and Comprehensive Utilization (Relocation and Renovation) project, which helps to further extend the company’s industrial chain, increase the added value of its coal products, and enhance the company’s profitability. By establishing Jingmei Chemical Co., Ltd. this time and investing in the project for the comprehensive utilization of clean and efficient gasified gas (relocation and renovation), the company can make full use of its coal resources, improve the efficiency and added value of these resources, extend its downstream industrial chain, and enhance its profitability. This project uses coal as a raw material to produce products such as synthetic ammonia, urea, methanol, melamine, and urea solutions. For the gasification technology of this project, it is recommended to use the HT-L pressurized coal gasification technology developed by China Aerospace Changzheng Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd., which possesses independent domestic intellectual property rights. Details of the proposed investment project: Liuhua Chemical Co., Ltd., under Jingyuan Coal Industry Group, will use Jingmei Chemical as the core entity to invest in the construction of the first phase of Jingyuan Coal and Electricity Company’s clean and efficient coal-to-gas comprehensive utilization project. This project will utilize the company’s local coal as raw material, employing pressurized coal gasification technology, as well as domestically developed isothermal shift processes, low-temperature methanol washing for desulfurization and decarbonization, liquid nitrogen washing for purification, and low-pressure ammonia synthesis. The ammonia produced will serve as a raw material for urea production; meanwhile, liquid carbon dioxide and sulfur will be generated as by-products. The scale of the facility will be 300,000 tons per year of ammonia, 100,000 tons per year of methanol, 30,000 Nm3/h of (CO+H) gas, 350,000 tons per year of urea, 50,000 tons per year of liquid CO, 60,000 tons per year of melamine, 50,000 tons per year of urea solution, 3,848 tons per year of sulfur, and 2,500 tons per year of catalysts. The product structure of the project includes an annual production of 91,000 tons of liquid ammonia, 40,000 tons of methanol, 144 million Nm3 of (CO+H), 148,500 tons of urea, 50,000 tons of liquid CO, 60,000 tons of melamine, 50,000 tons of urea solution, 1,924 tons of sulfur, 2,500 tons of catalysts, 20,520 tons of liquid oxygen, 13,464 tons of liquid nitrogen, and 14,832 tons of liquid argon.
