On December 23, the No. 2 desulfurization tower in the utility engineering center of the first-phase project completion and improvement project (Yanchang Jingbian Phase II project) at Yanchang Zhongmei Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. was filled with water and testing began. This marks the full entry of Tower 2 into the water-linked commissioning phase, laying the foundation for the introduction of flue gas into Tower 2. A responsible official from the Public Utilities Center said that the technical renovation project for Tower No. 2 is a key project within the company’s efforts in safety and environmental protection. The operation of Tower No. 2 will help reduce the operational pressure on Towers No. 1 and No. 3, and it will also contribute to the company’s goals of energy conservation and emission reduction. Recently, the oil leakage pump for the primary compressor of the LDPE/EVA unit in Yulin Energy Chemical’s improvement project was successfully installed, marking the completion of all installation work on the primary compressor equipment for this unit. The goals set for this installation campaign were achieved 10 days ahead of schedule. It is understood that the compressor in question was manufactured by Buchhard; it features 8 cylinders and operates in 6 compression stages, raising the pressure of ethylene gas from 0.05 MPa (G) to 28.5 MPa (G). The unit is equipped with a cooling water station, a crankcase lubricating oil station, a cylinder lubricating oil station, an inlet buffer tank, an outlet buffer tank, inter-stage coolers, inter-stage separators, and a leak gas recovery system, with as many as 43 auxiliary devices. To ensure the successful completion of this installation work, the Polyolefins Center, service providers, the general contractor, and the installation team developed a detailed work plan. By drawing on the installation experience from other projects, they arranged in advance the materials and tools needed for the day’s installation tasks. They paid close attention to the quality of the installation work and process safety, with each participating party assigning dedicated personnel to monitor the entire process in order to prevent any quality issues or safety hazards. Ensure the successful achievement of all annual construction goals. The completion and improvement project for the first phase of Shaanxi Yanchang China Coal Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. (Yanchang Jingbian Phase II project) involves an investment of 14.413 billion yuan. Using coal and natural gas as raw materials, this project aims to build an integrated facility capable of producing 1.8 million tons per year of methanol, 600,000 tons per year of methanol-to-olefins products, 400,000 tons per year of polypropylene, and 300,000 tons per year of low-density polyethylene/ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (LDPE/EVA). The project is scheduled to be put into operation in the second half of 2020.
