Meeting on the Feasibility Study for Chengzhi Co., Ltd.’s Methanol and Olefins Project in Jingzhou / Source: Yaha Coal Chemical Industry Date: 2020-01-20 Clicks: 3 On January 14, Comrade Hu Chenghong, Director of the Jingzhou Investment Promotion Center, presided over a meeting to discuss the feasibility study for Chengzhi Co., Ltd.’s project in Jingzhou. This meeting was a preliminary investigation conducted to prepare a feasibility study for the project to build facilities capable of producing 3.6 million tons of methanol and 600,000 tons of olefins per year in the Jingzhou Jiangling Green Energy Chemical Park. Such an agreement was signed in December 2019 between Chengzhi Co., Ltd., Air Products & Chemicals, and our city. The discussions focused on the requirements for preparing a feasibility study for the coal-based methanol and olefins production project carried out by Nanjing Chengzhi Yongqing Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and clear guidelines were established regarding the approach to construction, the requirements for compiling the feasibility study, and the deadline for completion. The Jiangling Coal, Electricity, and Coal Chemicals Command, as well as departments responsible for development and reform, economy and industry, planning, environmental protection, meteorology, and power supply at the city and county levels, and expert teams from China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd., attended the meeting.
So, it is the Fifth Ring Research Institute that is responsible for preparing the feasibility study for Chengzhi Yongqing Energy Technology Co., Ltd.’s coal-based methanol and olefins project.
It is said that this “Jingzhou Jiangling Green Energy Chemical Park” is a park yet to be developed, with few users and an uncertain future.
It is planned to develop this into a **-level coal chemical industry park, and discussions are also underway with Shenhua for coal-to-oil projects; the chairman of Shenhua is a former vice governor of Hubei, so this is quite likely to happen.
It is estimated that the model of Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park will be followed, with Chengzhi acting as a leading enterprise in the carbon-one sector.
