On March 2, the technical renovation project of the acetic acid production facility at Yulin Coal Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., which is under EPC contracting by Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., underwent pre-resumption work epidemic prevention inspections. Tests were conducted on workers who were not from Shaanxi Province to detect the novel coronavirus, ensuring that these workers could return to their posts safely and promptly. After completing tasks such as issuing health certificates and finalizing epidemic prevention documentation, the first batch of management personnel have undergone testing organized by the owner. At present, over 90% of the materials required for the project have arrived, and the civil engineering work is in its final stages; installation work will begin once the existing acetic acid plant is shut down. It is understood that this project involves upgrading the existing acetic acid production facility to increase its capacity; once the upgrades are completed, the facility will be able to produce 400,000 tons of acetic acid per year. In addition, a new propionic acid recovery unit will be added, with a capacity of 1,000 tons per year.
