Trial operation of the oil product production center in Shaanxi Jingyi Chemical’s 500,000-ton coal tar deep processing project / Author/Source: Coal Tar Deep Processing and Hydrogenation Technology Collaboration Group / Date: 2020-04-01 / Views: 25 On March 30, good news came from the oil product production center of Shaanxi Jingyi Chemical Co., Ltd.: the gas compressor at the top of the distillation tower of the fluidized bed unit succeeded in its trial operation on the first attempt, marking the official start of the trial operation process for the large-scale equipment in this center. On March 26, the company’s oil products department organized a regular meeting regarding unit commissioning, during which the progress of completing the remaining tasks related to unit testing was discussed, as well as ways to address any issues that arose during the commissioning process ； From March 27 to March 29, the center organized the construction team, as well as specialists in electrical systems, instrumentation, and process engineering, on multiple occasions to address the remaining tasks related to construction, in order to make thorough preparations for the commissioning process. On the morning of March 30, with approval, the trial operation was officially launched. At 9:31, the signal connection was established between the cabinet room and the control room, and the unit began its interlock verification ； At 15:10, after multiple interlock tests and adjustments, it was confirmed that the instrumentation and electrical calibration of the unit were complete, and the unit was ready for startup ； At 15:15, the compressor was started for a 5-minute trial run and oil pressure interlock test, to verify the installation of the bearing bushings and other major rotating components ； At 16:13, the compressor started up again; after 4 hours of continuous operation, operating parameters such as the compressor bearing temperature and aircraft vibration remained normal and stable. At 20:02, the compressor stopped, and the commissioning command team announced that the test of the overhead gas compressor in the oil production center’s distillation tower had been successful on the first attempt. The success of this testing phase marks the official commencement of the testing process for the 25 large-scale units at the oil product production center. Shaanxi Jingyi Chemical’s 500,000 tons per year project for the deep processing and integrated utilization of coal tar involves the use of advanced technologies with independent intellectual property rights, developed specifically for the characteristics of coal tar. The core technology consists of a combination of boiling-bed hydrogenation for quality improvement of coal tar across all fractions, along with fixed-bed hydrocracking; using medium- and low-temperature coal tar as raw material, this process primarily produces high-value aromatic chemical products. The project covers an area of about 1,200 mu, with an estimated investment of around 4.6 billion yuan. Construction of the project officially began in August 2017, and it is now in the final stages of design, civil works and safety preparations, as well as equipment installation. Completion and commissioning are expected by the end of October 2019. The projects mainly include: a 550,000-ton/year coal tar pretreatment unit, a 500,000-ton/year coal tar fluidized-bed hydrocracking unit, a 450,000-ton/year coal tar fixed-bed hydrocracking unit, a 400,000-ton/year naphtha continuous reforming unit, a 170,000-ton/year aromatic extraction unit, a 50,000 cubic meters per hour coal-to-hydrogen unit, a 50,000 cubic meters per hour air separation unit, a 100,000-ton/year methanol synthesis unit, as well as related supporting facilities such as hydrogen purification (PSA) units, sulfur recovery units, phenol-amine recovery units, storage and transportation systems, and other auxiliary and environmental protection systems.
