In recent years, Guxian County in Linfen City has taken measures suited to local conditions to encourage coking enterprises to reduce production capacity and undergo restructuring and integration. Guxian Zhengtai Gasification Co., Ltd. and Guxian Lida Coking Co., Ltd. joined forces to establish Guxian Taida New Energy Co., Ltd. On March 12, 2020, the two companies signed a cooperation agreement for a coking technology upgrade project with an annual production capacity of 1.92 million tons, aiming to promote the transformation and upgrading of the coking industry. The coking technology upgrade project with an annual production capacity of 1.92 million tons is the first major project for Guxian Taida New Energy Co., Ltd. The project is expected to require an investment of 2.2 billion yuan, with a construction period of 18 months. For coking, 2×70-chamber coke ovens with a height of 7.65 meters are used; these are large-capacity, top-loading coke ovens with single heating and multi-stage heating systems. They represent the most advanced type of top-loading coke oven in China, featuring the highest chamber heights available.
