Hualu Technology commenced full-scale construction of the 1.8 million-ton ethylene glycol project at Yulin Chemical of Shaanxi Coal Group. Author/Source: Hualu Date: April 17, 2020 Clicks: 6 On April 15, Hualu Technology held a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of the EPCO general contracting project for the wastewater treatment plant, recycled water station, and advanced wastewater treatment facilities as part of the demonstration project for producing new chemical materials through the selective utilization of coal at Yulin Chemical of Shaanxi Coal Group. Previously, the groundbreaking ceremonies for the EPC general contracting projects of the syngas purification unit and air separation unit for the first phase of this project, which involves 1.8 million tons of ethylene glycol per year, were held on April 2 and April 8 respectively. From then on, the construction of the project officially began. To ensure the smooth commencement of the project, the 1.8 million-ton ethylene glycol production project team at Hualu Technology and Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical overcame the impacts of the pandemic by conducting thorough planning. They actively maintained communication with the owner, management company, contractors, and supervisors, streamlined all the preliminary management procedures for the project, and implemented all the requirements related to pandemic prevention and control, thereby making every effort to ensure the project could start on schedule. Yulin Chemical’s “Demonstration Project for the Production of New Chemical Materials through the Differential Utilization of Coal” is a large-scale coal conversion project that is being prioritized for development by Shaanxi Coal Group. The project covers an area of 9.87 square kilometers, with a total investment of 102.2 billion yuan; it is located in the Qingshui Industrial Park in Yulin City. The first phase of this project involves the production of 1.8 million tons per year of ethylene glycol from coal.
