Recently, the hydrostatic test of Boiler No. 3 in the power plant unit of Yushen Energy Chemical’s 500,000 tons per year coal-based ethanol project, which was undertaken by Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., was successful, marking another important milestone. It is reported that the regulations for boiler pressure testing in winter require an average indoor temperature of 5°C above zero, with the water temperature not falling below 20°C. Due to the low temperatures in the area, the project team implemented strict anti-freezing measures, including enhanced temperature monitoring and the use of temporary heating systems, in order to control the water temperature during the pressure testing process and maintain the ambient temperature, thus ensuring the achievement of the goals set for the boiler pressure testing. During the hydrostatic test, no leaks or deformations were observed in any of the system components, valves, or pressure-bearing welds, and all parameters met the requirements specified in the boiler design standards. The successful completion of the hydrostatic test on Boiler No. 3 has created favorable conditions and laid a solid foundation for the subsequent tasks such as boiler construction and insulation work.
Measures such as enhanced temperature monitoring and the addition of temporary heating were adopted to control the water temperature during the hydraulic testing process as well as the ambient temperature, thereby ensuring the achievement of the goals set for this testing phase.
