The 2.05 million tons per year coking project of Jinhui Coal and Coke in Xiaoyi City officially commenced construction. On July 7, the excavation work for the refractory material storage facility of this coking project, which has a carbonization chamber capacity of 6.78 meters and a production capacity of 2.05 million tons per year, was started by the Shanxi branch of Sinochem 13th Construction Company; this marks the official start of construction for this project. Sinochem 13th Construction Company’s Shanxi branch was responsible for three construction phases: Phase II for the civil engineering works of the entire plant, Phase III for the installation work, and Phase IV for the electrical and instrumentation work. The total duration of these tasks was 480 calendar days, with a contract value of 530 million yuan. The 2.05 million tons per year coking project with carbonization chambers 6.78 meters in length at Xiaoyi Jinhui Coal and Coke Co., Ltd., along with its supporting facilities, has a total investment of around 3.9 billion yuan. Located in the Xiaoyi Economic Development Zone in Shanxi Province, it represents an important initiative by the Jinhui Group to respond to the calls for industrial transformation and to combat air pollution, as well as to develop a provincial-level science and technology park for circular economy initiatives. The project is constructed in accordance with **the latest industry standards, design specifications, and environmental requirements for coking. The coking section was designed by the world-class German company ThyssenKrupp, ensuring a high-standard approach to planning, design, and construction. Technologies such as single rising tube regulation, negative pressure in the gas collection duct for smoke-free coal loading, a new type of furnace door sealing device, exhaust gas recycling, and two-stage heating have significantly improved the environmental performance of coke ovens, enabling low-carbon production in industries with high energy consumption. Upon completion, it will become the world’s first coke oven with a height of 6.78 meters, featuring high levels of automation and ultra-low emission standards; it will serve as a model project for modern, large-scale coking facilities that are among the best in the industry and at the international forefront. By addressing both environmental protection and low-carbon challenges, the project enables coking units to achieve true green production. The Green Coking Circular Economy Industrial Park of Shanxi Jinhui Coal and Coke Co., Ltd. involves the construction of a coke-making facility with a capacity of 2.05 million tons per year, featuring carbonization chambers that are 6.78 meters high. The construction period for this project is two years; once completed, it will be able to produce 2.05 million tons of coke, 100,000 tons of LNG, and 250,000 tons of synthetic ammonia per year. It is estimated that the annual sales revenue will amount to 4.2 billion yuan, with a total profit of 640 million yuan and tax payments of 160 million yuan. Additionally, this project will create more than 720 new jobs. This project features the country’s first coke oven with a carbonization chamber measuring 6.78 meters, designed using Germany’s Wood Company’s state-of-the-art technology. It employs technologies such as single rising pipe regulation, smokeless coal charging via negative pressure in the gas collection system, a new type of oven door sealing device, exhaust gas recycling, and two-stage heating, all of which significantly improve the environmental performance of the coke oven and enable low-carbon production in industries with high energy consumption. By addressing both environmental protection and low-carbon issues, coking units can truly achieve green production.
