This is the longest operating time for this testing facility since its commissioning, setting a new record for facilities of this type worldwide. “During this critical period of low oil prices, it is essential to treat the long-term operation of combined oil and coal processing as a top priority for the enterprise, striving to achieve the goal of maintaining safe and stable operation of the facilities for over 200 days. ”In January 2017, at the site of the \"100#\" project facility, Yang Yue, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Group Company, his encouraging words inspired the company’s employees and cadres to exert more effort and strive to surpass others. Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Refining Company adheres to the philosophy of \"steady progress and safety first,\" taking precise actions in various areas such as raw material selection, process control, technological upgrades, production process management, and safety measures, while promptly optimizing technical parameters and plans. During this period, a total of 153,400 tons of various raw materials were processed; the average coal usage rate was 27.94%. The total output of gasoline, diesel, and liquefied fuels amounted to 88,400 tons, with an overall yield of 57.61%. The reaction efficiency of the plant remained high, and the quality of the products exceeded the national V standards. It is worth noting that this trial run also involved experiments with the use of various types of heavy (low-quality) crude oils. This not only helped the company reduce costs and improve efficiency, but it also facilitated the use of a variety of raw materials in resource utilization. Additionally, it further verified the online integration process of suspended-bed and fixed-bed hydrogenation, allowing for the full exploitation of the synergistic effects associated with the simultaneous hydrogenation and cracking of coal and residue oil, thereby enabling efficient processing of heavy oils and coal. Since the project was completed and put into trial operation, the refining and chemical processing unit has adhered to the principle of \"conducting a trial operation, summarizing experience, making technological innovations, and improving the relevant plans\". It has overcome issues such as unstable quality of raw materials, as well as technical problems like easy wear and blockages in the equipment and poor operational efficiency, and has carried out optimizations, defect corrections, and technological upgrades to address these problems. At present, the 100# project has initially developed a multi-feedstock blending approach, overcoming technical challenges in both the clean and efficient conversion of coal and the upgrading of heavy (poor-quality) oils to lighter forms. It has established a core technology framework for kerosene co-refining projects, fully verifying the feasibility of industrializing such projects; this opens up a new technical pathway for coal-to-oil production and the upgrading of heavy (poor-quality) oils in China. Meanwhile, the Y—CCO industrialization technology used in this device has given rise to 27 patent applications.
