The project to upgrade the refractory bricks in Unit D of the gasifier at Shanxi Shenhua Coal Chemical Group Co., Ltd. was successful with a single feeding attempt. Author/Source: Jinhua Furnace; Date: November 28, 2022; Clicks: 9. With the cooperation of our technical staff and the owner’s personnel in charge of processes, instrumentation, and equipment, Unit D, whose refractory bricks were replaced with a water-cooled wall system, was successfully commissioned on November 27 at 16:29 after passing all tests. All technical parameters remained normal following the feeding, and the unit officially entered production mode. The gasifiers currently in use at Shaanxi Chemical Industry Group are of the slurry-cooled furnace type with refractory bricks; the maintenance costs for these bricks are high, the range of coal types that can be used is limited, and the continuous operating cycle per furnace is short. Beijing Qingchuang Jinhua Technology Co., Ltd. upgraded its unused gasification furnace, Unit D, by utilizing its own patented \"Jinhua Furnace\" technology. This furnace uses advanced water-cooled walls in place of the traditional refractory bricks, and a new type of descending tube replaces the conventional cooling ring and descending pipe arrangement. As a result, the upgraded gasification furnace can handle coal types with high ash melting points, thereby expanding its compatibility with different coal types and reducing the maintenance requirements for the cooling ring and descending pipe. The continuous operating cycle of a single furnace can exceed 120 days. The wall temperature of the upgraded gasification furnace is about 100°C lower than that of the furnaces using refractory bricks at present, making the operation of the system safer and more stable.
