Jiang Guanxi, deputy general manager of Guizhou Energy Shuicheng Coal-Electricity-Carbon Integration Co., Ltd., explained that the project utilizes internationally advanced 6.78 m side-loading, ultra-large-capacity ramming coke ovens, as well as cutting-edge technologies such as full dry quenching of coke and recovery of waste heat from flue gas and rising pipes. Once in operation, the energy consumption is 109.37 kg of standard coal per ton of coke, which is better than the industry’s energy efficiency benchmarks. The coke oven is the core equipment in coking plants; to make the most of the advantages of these large-capacity coke ovens, the project is also equipped with a large-scale machine that combines coal charging and coke pushing functions. Fu Zhongyuan from the Coal Coking Branch of Guizhou Energy Shuicheng Coal, Electricity, and Chemical Integration Co., Ltd. explained that it is a device that integrates five functions: coal feeding, material supply, and coal loading, and it is designed and managed in a way that emphasizes automation and intelligence. To maximize the utilization of existing assets, the new project upgraded certain equipment from the original project, such as the boilers, changing the power generation method from coal to gas. The off-gases generated by the newly established circular economy industry chain will be used to fuel the boilers for power generation. At present, the key components of this industrial chain include 2×660,000 kW coal-fired power generation facilities, a coal coking plant with an annual output of 2 million tons, and 2.64 million kW of new energy projects, with a total investment of around 20 billion yuan. Through coupled coordination among these three major projects, with the mutual conversion of by-products and raw materials, they can, once put into operation, exploit resources to the fullest extent. Ye Jianhua, general manager of Guizhou Energy Shuicheng Coal, Electricity, and Chemical Integration Co., Ltd., said that these projects are interconnected and complementary to one another. Firstly, the hydrogen-rich gas and coal gas produced by the coal coking project are used as fuel for starting up power generation units as well as for maintaining stable combustion during peak periods ; Secondly, some auxiliary facilities in coal coking and coal-fired power generation are shared and resources are pooled to reduce duplicate investments and operating costs ; The integration of thermal power generation, new energy sources, and energy storage creates a stable and low-cost power supply system for spot electricity trading.
