Formation of the **Key Laboratory Alliance for Coal Conversion** Author/Source: Sinochem News Network Date: July 24, 2020 Clicks: 157 On July 18, institutions such as the Shanxi Institute of Coal Chemistry under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which house **key laboratories**, jointly established the **Key Laboratory Alliance for Clean and Efficient Coal Conversion**. The members of the alliance include the Key Laboratory of Coal Conversion and the Engineering Laboratory for Indirect Coal Liquefaction at the Shanxi Institute of Coal Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences; the Key Laboratory of Coal Liquefaction and Coal Chemical Engineering at Yankuang Group; the Coal-Based Synthetic Engineering Technology Research Center at Lu’an Group; the pilot base for the Key Laboratory of Coal Science and Technology jointly established by Taiyuan University of Technology and provincial/municipal authorities; the Energy Coal Gasification Technology R&D Center at East China University of Science and Technology; the Key Laboratory for Clean and Differentiated Transformation of Energy Coal at Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd.; and the Key Laboratory of Efficient Utilization of Coal and Green Chemical Engineering jointly established by Ningxia University and provincial/municipal authorities. This alliance aims to leverage the role of **key laboratories, establish platforms for interdisciplinary and integrated innovation, and build strategic capabilities for the clean and efficient conversion of coal**. It seeks to create a comprehensive R&D system in China’s field of coal conversion that covers everything from addressing key scientific issues to achieving breakthroughs in core technologies, as well as system integration and optimization. This approach is intended to foster the generation of significant scientific research results and to guide the future development of science, technology, and industry in related fields.
