On September 14, the ethylene glycol plant as part of the Guangxi Huayi industrial gas complex, which was constructed under the EPC contract by Donghua Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Guangxi Huayi ethylene glycol plant”), successfully passed the project quality completion inspection. According to the acceptance results, the construction quality of the ethylene glycol plant in Guangxi Huayi meets the requirements specified in the design documents and relevant engineering quality acceptance standards, and all tasks outlined in the design documents and the contract have been completed. Recently, under the supervision of the Quality Inspection Station in Qinnan District, Qinzhou City, Guangxi Hua Yi Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. organized the project supervisor, design firm, surveying agency, and construction contractor to participate in this inspection. The members of the inspection team conducted on-site checks of the quality of the concrete used in various components of Guangxi Hua Yi’s ethylene glycol production facility, as well as of its structural integrity. The Guangxi Huayi ethylene glycol plant includes production units such as DMO synthesis, DMO distillation, EG synthesis, EG distillation, CO recycle gas compression, and EG recycle gas compression, as well as key components like substations, cabinet rooms, and utility systems. Since the start of construction, all members of the Donghua Technology Guangxi Huayi project team have worked together in unity and dedication, always adhering to high standards and strict requirements in order to advance the construction process. They overcame various challenges such as heavy production tasks, tight deadlines, and the impact of the pandemic, by focusing on safety and quality, strengthening construction management, enhancing process control, and ensuring proper coordination – all in an effort to meet the scheduled milestones. After 32 months of hard work, the construction was completed to high standards. On August 21, the ethylene glycol production unit at Guangxi Huayi achieved a successful first start-up, producing qualified ethylene glycol products, which indicates that the unit is now operating normally. This lays a solid foundation for completing the entire production process of the Guangxi Huayi industrial gas complex and enabling its full-scale operation. Project Overview: The Huayi Qinzhou Chemical New Materials Integrated Base project is located in the Qinzhou Petrochemical Industrial Park. It covers an area of approximately 8,000 mu, with a total investment of around 70 billion yuan, and will be implemented in three phases. It covers four major industrial chains: coal chemical industry, light hydrocarbon cracking, salt chemical industry, and downstream petrochemical industry, involving 40 types of chemical products and 65 sets of facilities. One of these industrial gas island projects, with a total investment of 14.3 billion yuan, is part of the coal chemical industry chain; construction began in November 2017. It will produce industrial gases such as hydrogen, syngas, and nitrogen for use by enterprises within the park, as well as chemical products like methanol, ethylene glycol, and acetic acid. Completion and operation are expected by 2020. The second phase of the light hydrocarbon comprehensive utilization project has a total investment of around 20.8 billion yuan. The project focuses on ethane cracking and propane dehydrogenation as its core processes, and it will produce products such as polyethylene, ethylene glycol, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA), acrylates, polyether polyols, caustic soda, and polyvinyl chloride. Construction is expected to begin in 2019. The main plant area of the project is located in plots 25 and 26 in the Qinzhou Petrochemical Industrial Park, to the south of it. The third-phase methanol-to-olefins and downstream processing project has a total investment of around 18.3 billion yuan; it will produce products such as polypropylene, polycarbonate, polymethyl methacrylate, caustic soda, and polyvinyl chloride, with construction expected to begin in 2025.
