Ningxia Hill Chemical to Build a Project for Producing 110,000 Tons of Alcohol-Ether Clean Energy per Year. Author/Source: Coal Chemicals Journal. Date: July 28, 2021. Clicks: 46. Recently, a team of five members from Sinochem Research Institute of Chemical Technology visited Yinchuan, Ningxia, and held friendly discussions with Ningxia Duoli New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. The two parties reached an agreement to jointly establish \"Ningxia Hill Chemical Co., Ltd.\" in the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Park in Ningxia, in order to build a project for producing 110,000 tons of alcohol-ether clean energy per year. The project has been registered in the Ningdong Industrial Park in Ningxia. The production line-related procurement contracts for process technologies have already been signed. It is planned to issue the EPC general contract bidding in 2021, complete the construction drawings and equipment procurement in 2022, start construction in March 2023, and commence operations in December of the same year. At present, tasks such as project approval, land certification, safety assessments, and environmental impact assessments are being carried out in an orderly manner. The 110,000-ton alcohol-ether clean energy project is planned to have a total investment of 800 million yuan, and 200 mu of land for its construction has already been approved. The project plans to construct \"three major units\": ① a 50,000 t/a dimethyl ether fuel additive plant (accompanied by 160,000 t/a formaldehyde and 130,000 t/a methyl acetal plants) ; ②20,000 t/a calcium acetylpropionate (along with 12,000 t/a acetylpropionate, 20,000 t/a acetic anhydride, and 20,000 t/a acetate plants) ; ③40,000 t/a dimethyl carbonate plant. After the project goes into operation, it is expected to generate an output value of 1.16 billion yuan and profits and taxes of 161 million yuan. The product produced after going into operation is a clean alternative to gasoline; it can effectively alleviate the pressure caused by rising oil prices in the market, reduce harmful emissions from vehicles by over 50%, and play a positive role in accelerating the development and application of clean energy industries in China’s western regions, thereby facilitating the growth of such industries in those areas.
