On July 29, 2020, the first public disclosure of information regarding the environmental impact assessment for the first phase of Inner Mongolia Guozhu Energy Group Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 4 billion cubic meters of coal-to-natural gas per year (with an annual production capacity of 2.2 billion cubic meters) was made. The first public disclosure of information regarding the environmental impact assessment for the first phase of Inner Mongolia Guocu Energy Group Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 4 billion cubic meters of coal-to-natural gas per year (with an annual production capacity of 2.2 billion cubic meters) is being made here. In accordance with laws and regulations such as the Environmental Impact Assessment Law of the People’s Republic of China and the Measures for Public Participation in Environmental Impact Assessment, an environmental impact assessment has been conducted for this project. The following is the first public disclosure of information related to the environmental impact report for the first phase of this project: 1. Name and overview of the project: Project name: First phase of Inner Mongolia Guocu Energy Group Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 4 billion cubic meters of coal-to-natural gas per year (annual production capacity of 2.2 billion cubic meters). Location: Southern part of the Shangejia Chemical Industrial Park in the Xinxiang Industrial Park, Tumote Right Banner, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia. To the north, the project is adjacent to the ethylene glycol production facility; to the south, it is next to the railway lines within the park; to the east, it is adjacent to Jingqi Road and equipment manufacturing facilities; and to the west, there is industrial land within the park. Construction contents: The main facilities to be built include gasification, shift and heat recovery, low-temperature methanol washing, refrigeration, methane synthesis, liquefied natural gas, sulfur recovery, boilers, air separation as well as the corresponding utility systems, auxiliary equipment, and supporting facilities. Product solution: This project uses local coal from Inner Mongolia as raw material to produce LNG through coal gasification, shift reaction and heat recovery, low-temperature methanol washing, methane synthesis, and natural gas liquefaction, with sulfur generated as a by-product. The annual production capacity is 1.51 million tons of liquefied natural gas (equivalent to 2.2 billion standard cubic meters of gaseous natural gas per year), with an annual output of 40,000 tons of sulfur as a by-product.
