(AP Inc.) was officially signed and put into operation in the Dalaat Economic Development Zone in Inner Mongolia. The project requires an investment of around 1.5 billion yuan to build a syngas island (including air separation units, gasification units, and purification units). It is planned to receive the necessary approvals by the end of 2020, with commissioning scheduled for 2023. Once completed, the project will be able to supply qualified syngas for co-production projects involving methanol, ethanol, and various downstream fine chemical products in the Dalat Economic Development Zone, thereby marking a new milestone in the integrated development of the zone’s infrastructure. It is reported that the syngas island project is part of the development zone’s plan to build utility islands. Under this initiative, a platform company is established under the leadership of ** to guide key enterprises in constructing steam islands, power islands, and syngas islands. These facilities are intended to meet the various energy needs of companies within the industrial ecosystem, such as those for water, electricity, heat, steam, and syngas, thereby maximizing efficiency while ensuring a safe supply of energy and improving energy utilization efficiency. AP Company is currently investing 4.7 billion yuan in the construction of the large-scale gas island project at Air Chemical Products (Hohhot) Co., Ltd.; this project is designed to support Jiu Tai New Materials Co., Ltd. in Inner Mongolia in its production of 1 million tons of ethylene glycol per year. The project is located in the industrial park of Tuoketuo County, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia. It is the first gasification and syngas supply project invested in, constructed, and operated by Air Products in the Chinese market. The project replaces the coal-to-gas unit and air separation unit in Inner Mongolia Jutai New Materials Co., Ltd.’s project for the annual production of 1 million tons of ethylene glycol; the syngas generated is supplied to Inner Mongolia Jutai New Materials Co., Ltd. as a raw material. A coal-to-gas plant with a capacity of 8000 h×440,000 Nm3/h (with a maximum capacity of 8000 h×550,000 Nm3/h), and 2 x 100,000 Nm3 air separation units.
