The zero-emission system at Yan’an Energy Chemicals, operated by Yanchang Petroleum, has completed the entire process chain and is now in trial operation. At 7 p.m. on August 29, the centrifuge in the evaporation unit of the company’s zero-emission system produced standard mixed salt that met the design requirements, marking the completion of the entire process chain for this zero-emission system and its official commissioning. Since August, in order to ensure the long-term operation of the zero-emission equipment, the Public Utilities Center has attached great importance to this matter. It has actively coordinated with the center’s technical staff, the general contractor, and relevant personnel from the construction units to stay on site. By taking into account the problems that arose during operation and by pooling ideas and adopting various measures, they have resolved numerous issues that affected the stable operation of the equipment. During that period, the zero-emission technology specialists worked overtime, overcame numerous difficulties, and held multiple meetings with the project team to implement more than 30 technical improvements. Through over 20 days of joint efforts, the entire process of the zero-emission project was successfully completed. The zero-emission project is a major environmental improvement initiative for which the company has invested substantial funds; it builds upon the highest existing wastewater treatment technologies in the country and is aimed at serving the Beiluo River basin. Once put into operation, the zero-emission system will treat industrial wastewater from the southern area by adding chemicals to remove hardness, and it will recover virtually all of this wastewater through membrane separation and evaporation processes, thereby enabling its reuse in a circular manner. To date, the zero-emission system has processed approximately 74,570 cubic meters of wastewater from the southern area; of this amount, around 70,800 cubic meters has been converted into recycled water for reuse, making a significant contribution to energy savings and emission reduction in the plant’s water management system.
