The ethanol production unit of the Yushen Energy Chemicals 500,000 tons/year coal-based ethanol project has completed its annual civil engineering work. Author/Source: Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. Date: 2020-12-01. Clicks: 5. On November 30th, the framework of the dimethyl ether reactor in the ethanol production unit of this project, which was EPC-contracted by Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., was completed. With this, the pouring of all three core frameworks for this project has been completed, marking the successful fulfillment of the annual civil engineering construction tasks for the ethanol plant. Reactor pouring frame and winter protection measures: This frame is primarily used to support the dimethyl ether reactor, which is one of the key equipment in the ethanol production facility. It has a reinforced concrete structure; the total height of the frame is 8.5 meters, the thickness of the main support beams is 1.8 meters, the amount of steel used is approximately 49 tons, and the volume of concrete poured is 400 cubic meters. Before pouring, the project team carried out thorough inspections to verify that all conditions were suitable for pouring, and provided technical instructions regarding winter insulation measures. In accordance with the established winter construction plan, heating shelters were set up around the main framework to maintain an appropriate temperature, and the environmental temperature was monitored regularly to ensure the quality of the concrete pouring. It is reported that the ethanol plant is the core production facility for this project, and its manufacturing process utilizes the extended Chinese Science and Technology coal-based ethanol technology. According to the process flow, there is 1 dimethyl ether reactor, 4 carbonylation reactors, and 1 methyl acetate hydrogenation reactor. Pile pouring work began on July 8 this year; the expert review of the frame structure was completed on October 10, and pouring of the upper part of the frame structure started gradually on November 15. To date, the construction of the main frame structure has been fully completed, taking a total of 145 days. Next, the project team will employ effective insulation measures to accelerate the curing of concrete, ensuring the smooth installation of the dimethyl ether reactor. At the same time, through winter construction, they will complete the construction of some of the foundations for on-ground equipment as well as pipeline trench foundations, thereby laying a solid foundation for the installation work in 2021.
