On December 25, the zero-waste discharge project of Shanxi Jinmei Huayu Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. was officially launched at the MTG plant site. It is understood that the zero-waste discharge project of Shanxi Jinmei Huayu Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. involves a series of treatment processes to recycle wastewater, turning it into \"high-quality water\" that meets the standards for recycled cooling water and can be reused. The project is designed with a concentrated brine inflow rate of 120 m3/h. Once completed and put into operation, it will enable effective reduction in pollutant emissions, addressing the conflict between insufficient water environmental capacity and the need for high-quality enterprise development. It will also provide makeup water for the gasification unit, while generating sodium sulfate and sodium chloride as by-products, thereby achieving \"zero wastewater discharge\" and meeting **environmental protection requirements**. Since its establishment, Shanxi Jinmei Huayu Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. has actively pursued the philosophy that green mountains and clear waters are equivalent to gold and silver. Adhering to an environmental protection approach aimed at avoiding falling behind over 20 years, the company has strictly followed the principles of standardization, normalization, data-driven management, and grid-based oversight. It has focused on addressing issues at their source, making substantial investments, setting high standards, and implementing strict management practices. As a result, it has built and put into operation various environmental protection facilities such as those for ultra-low emissions from boiler smoke, sulfur recovery from exhaust gases, wastewater treatment, fluoride removal from wastewater, and clean coal transportation using pipelines. In total, approximately 530 million yuan has been invested in environmental protection initiatives. Since its commissioning, the company has maintained **advanced levels** in terms of various consumption factors and pollutant emissions during its production process, thereby meeting the requirements for differentiated control and refined management set by the Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau, which aims to focus on large-scale enterprises and establish benchmarks. The company upgraded its pollution control facilities for boiler exhaust gases, resulting in reductions of 78%, 86%, and 94% in the emissions of nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, and particulate matter respectively. This performance was highly recognized by the leaders of the Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau as well as those of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and the company was selected by the Jincheng City Ecology and Environment Bureau as a benchmark enterprise in the city’s coal chemical industry. The implementation of the wastewater \"zero discharge\" project is not only a significant decision taken to meet the environmental protection requirements set by the municipal party committee and government as well as the group company, but it is also a key initiative aimed at improving the company’s environmental performance. It represents an effort to contribute to the creation of a beautiful Jincheng. Through specialized water treatment processes, this project enables the recycling of water resources, while converting all the organic substances generated during wastewater treatment into useful salts. This approach helps to reduce water consumption further, thereby supporting the company’s pursuit of high-quality development at lower costs.
