On the evening of January 19, the technical upgrade project for utilizing waste alkaline liquid in combustion at the Thermal Power Center of Yan’an Energy Chemicals was officially launched. It took only 12 days from the project’s initiation to its official operation, which significantly reduced the company’s inventory pressure related to waste alkaline solutions. It is estimated that each boiler can handle 25,000 tons of such waste solutions per year, helping the company save a substantial amount of money on hazardous waste disposal while ensuring the stable operation of all equipment. Waste alkaline liquid is a type of waste fluid generated during petrochemical production that contains large amounts of pollutants; it is highly alkaline in nature. If not properly pre-treated, high-concentration waste alkaline liquid entering the biological wastewater treatment system can inhibit the growth and reproduction of microorganisms, and in severe cases, it can lead to the death of large numbers of microorganisms, thereby affecting the proper operation of the wastewater treatment plant and preventing the discharged wastewater from meeting regulatory standards. Due to the large amount of waste alkali solution generated by the company, it poses significant pressure on the operation of the production facilities. In response to this, the company carried out preliminary tasks such as inspections, evaluations, and research in various locations. Given the urgency of the project and the heavy workload, and due to a shortage of spare parts, the Procurement and Supply Management Department actively coordinated with various centers to obtain these spare parts ; The Department of Safety and Environmental Protection, the Department of Production and Operations, the Department of Science, Technology and Quality Management, and the Department of Equipment Management have assigned dedicated personnel to be on site to assist with the construction work ; The staff at the thermoelectric power center worked round the clock, completing tasks such as airtightness testing, flushing, pressure testing, and debugging of the system in just 3 days, thus laying the foundation for the successful implementation of the project.
