On July 10, the groundbreaking ceremony was held for a coal deep-processing and circular industry chain project focused on the improved and cleaner utilization of coal, in the Santanghu Industrial Park of Barkol County, Hami City. This project was funded by Xinjiang Jiaguo Weiye New Energy Co., Ltd. and Xinjiang Yuanjiehan Technology Co., Ltd. This project is a key industrial investment project in the autonomous region, and it holds great significance for advancing the development of large-scale coal bases in Xinjiang, optimizing the coal industry structure, and promoting the integrated development of coal and electricity. Barkol County in Hami City boasts abundant coal resources, and the establishment of these two companies marks the entry of coal deep-processing in the Santanghu Industrial Park into the actual construction phase. The project utilizes 12 million tons of coal pyrolysis at the upstream stage of the integrated circular industrial chain. It purchases raw coal from the Shitoumei Coal Mine, and through medium- and low-temperature pyrolysis, it produces semi-coke and coal tar. The coal tar is then processed to produce high-quality gasoline and diesel. Meanwhile, the by-product gas is used to generate electricity as well as to produce coal chemical products such as LNG, methanol, and dimethyl ether. This approach offers advantages such as low energy consumption, low pollution, and high returns. As the first coal chemical project to be officially implemented in the Santanghu mining area, once completed, it will further facilitate the efficient conversion of coal resources in the Santanghu mining area of Bariqun County, Hami City, increase the added value of products, and provide a platform for the development of the coal chemical industry chain. It will also bring about significant economic and social benefits.
