Author/Source: Weihe Group Date: 2021-02-07 Clicks: 23 On the morning of February 4th, following the successful initial feeding of the two gasification units and the delivery of high-purity hydrogen, the purification team in the gas production workshop managed to produce high-quality pure CO with a purity of 99.9% after four days; all the raw materials required for ethylene glycol synthesis were thus supplied to the subsequent processing stages； At the same time, the sulfur recovery unit of the environmental protection project also conducted its first gas discharge and produced liquid sulfur, thereby completing all processes in the gas production workshop successfully. The purification unit for high-purity CO utilizes German Linde cryogenic technology, with a designed capacity of 38,000 NM3/H. Once the process gas is introduced, the medium-pressure nitrogen used for cooling is withdrawn and taken out of service. During the initial project review, energy savings were considered, which led to a reduction in the amount of medium-pressure nitrogen required for cooling the liquid accumulations before startup; this made the commissioning process more difficult. The difficulties were also challenges, but through the joint efforts of the manufacturer, the production department, and the purification team, this problem was solved by various means. Both the main burner of the sulfur recovery unit in the environmental protection project and that of the main sulfur recovery unit use pure oxygen for combustion. The incinerator at Binzhou Company is required to handle 6 streams of waste gas, giving it a relatively higher design capacity; as of the deadline, both incinerators were operating stably. Completing the entire process in the gas production workshop represents a test not only of the physical strength, endurance, and intelligence of those involved, but also of the coordination between manufacturing processes and mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Through collaborative efforts between the company’s headquarters and its branches, new progress has been made in the testing phase. At present, the trial operation is being refined, along with related assurance measures; the employees at Binzhou Company are continuing to work tirelessly to ensure the successful commencement of trials for the ethylene glycol product as soon as possible.
