On November 25, the PP3 unit at Yueneng Chemical’s polyolefins center successfully produced a new high-quality propylene-butylene copolymer product named EC340R-B; this represents another achievement by Yueneng Chemical as part of its “Three Comparisons and Three Improvements” initiative. To address challenges such as the high difficulty in developing propylene-butylene copolymer transparent materials and the complexity of process control, Yueneng Chemical Company took full advantage of the \"Three Comparisons and Three Improvements\" initiative as well as the efforts to achieve first-level safety standardization. By building on the successful production experience gained with propylene-butylene copolymers using the first-phase production facility, the company formulated a detailed plan through careful planning. During the production of the EC340R-B product, a high content of ethylene-propylene rubber is present; therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the adjustment speed of the hydrogen regulation method during production. When setting the concentrations of butylene and ethylene, close monitoring is required of parameters such as reactor temperature and pressure, as well as of the operation of subsequent feeding controls. Throughout the process, the plant operators followed the conversion plan meticulously, overcoming production challenges such as large fluctuations in the reactor conditions, high viscosity of the reactants, and difficulty in removing light hydrocarbons, and successfully produced qualified product at 00:37. It is understood that propylene-butylene copolymer transparent impact-resistant polypropylene boasts excellent transparency and rigidity, as well as good impact resistance, and can be widely used in applications such as large storage boxes, ice cream containers, packaging for frozen foods, and containers for low-temperature storage. The successful production of the EC340R-B has provided Yueneng Chemical Company with valuable experience for the development of new products in the future, marking a firm and significant step forward on the path toward higher quality, differentiated, and greener polypropylene products.
