(referred to as Chuangmeng Energy) jointly signed such an engineering design contract for the aforementioned facilities in the Dalate Economic Development Zone in Inner Mongolia. This signing marks the entry of the project into the actual engineering design phase; it is also the first domestic project of this scale for producing ethanol from syngas that has been undertaken by Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. It is reported that the project covers an area of 1,049 mu, and uses coal as raw material to produce syngas; most of this syngas is supplied to ethanol production facilities, while a smaller portion is used in fine chemical projects. The project involves the construction of a new 7×59,000 Nm3/h BGL gasification unit (5 in operation and 2 as backups), along with the associated syngas shift, purification, and separation units ； 2×40000 Nm3/h air separation unit ； 25,000 tons/year sulfur plant ； A 600,000 tons/year ethanol plant along with its supporting utility systems.
