On December 9, the top operating platform for the facility used to produce 300,000 tons per year of methanol along with ammonia, as part of the Shanxi Xiaxin Fine Chemicals and New Materials Recycling Project, was installed – this marked the successful completion of the installation of the tallest equipment at this site. Located in the Fine Chemicals Park in Qingxu County, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, this project produces methanol and ammonia as by-products of coking gas generated in the upstream coking process. It is an important part of the Shanxi Xiaxin Fine Chemicals and New Materials Recycling Project; once operational, it will provide raw materials for the production of fine chemicals in downstream industries and contribute to increased local tax revenues. The flare system consists of an atmospheric pressure flare vessel, an emergency flare vessel, an ammonia flare vessel, and one tower, with a total height of 71 meters. To reduce safety risks and minimize work at heights, the torch tower was divided into 4 sections, which were modularly assembled on the ground before being lifted into place. Thanks to the efforts of the workers from Liuhua Construction, all work related to the assembly of the torch tower was completed in just eight days, and the lifting of the four sections was finished in four days; ultimately, the torch was lifted successfully in a single operation.
