Once completed, this project will become China’s first industrial facility for producing green methanol from carbon dioxide via hydrogenation, and it will also be the largest such facility in the world. Through the successful implementation of this project, SHENGU Group Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd. will plan to create a brand-new development blueprint. It is foreseeable that the successful completion of Anyang’s green and low-carbon methanol production project from carbon dioxide (carbon neutrality) will effectively expand the range of measures available in China for energy conservation and emission reduction. Ultimately, it will serve as one of the pathways to reducing carbon dioxide emissions and achieving carbon neutrality. Additionally, this project enables the utilization and storage of hydrogen energy; moreover, the resulting green methanol fuel is a new energy source that is being actively promoted. The entire project aligns closely with national environmental and energy policies and development goals, thus serving as an excellent model and exemplar for environmental governance and energy development in Anyang, Henan Province, and even across the whole country. Against this backdrop, Anyang Shunli Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd.’s project to produce green and low-carbon methanol from carbon dioxide was developed. The project utilizes coke oven gas generated by Henan Shuncheng Group and carbon dioxide from the industrial waste gases of Angang Furnace Charge Company as raw materials to produce 110,000 tons of methanol and 70,000 tons of LNG as a by-product. Not only does the project contribute to carbon emission reduction, but it also produces green and low-carbon fuels. It significantly reduces air pollution caused by enterprises and ensures the high-value comprehensive utilization of resources. The emission reduction effect of the entire project is very evident. By directly absorbing and assimilating carbon dioxide, it directly reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 160,000 tons of CO2 annually, while indirectly cutting another 550,000 tons of CO2 emissions. This is equivalent to the emission reduction achieved by planting forests over an area of 550,000 mu. The process thus offers significant social and ecological benefits.
