Since the full resumption of work on the Datang Fuxin coal-to-natural gas project in October 2025, it has made rapid progress thanks to the joint efforts of all parties involved. According to a report on the Liaoning Provincial Government website in April 2026, at the site of the Datang Fuxin coal-to-natural gas project, over 2,000 workers were working simultaneously at full capacity. The Fuxin coal-to-natural gas project was basically completed in 2020. Resuming operations requires, on the one hand, inspecting and maintaining the installed equipment and instruments ； On the other hand, due to new optimization and technical improvement projects as well as standard upgrades, it is necessary to supplement the original design in accordance with **new safety and environmental protection standards and requirements. The production schedule set by Datang Fuxin is as follows: the boilers in the power center will be ready for ignition by the end of June, the synthesis center will be ready for hot-state testing by September 30, and the project will be operational by the end of October, enabling the delivery of qualified natural gas. The first phase of Liaoning Datang International’s Fuxin project, which produces 1.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas from coal, uses Lurgi coal pulverization pressurized gasification; natural gas is generated through processes such as low-temperature methanol washing, sulfur recovery, and methanation. The first phase of the coal-to-natural gas project at Liaoning Datang International Fuxin officially commenced operations in July 2011. In the second half of 2013, the project was put on hold due to factors such as coal supply, railways, the market, and technology, and construction was officially halted in 2014. In April 2018, work on the project resumed in full. In June 2020, the A/B series of Datang Fuxin were purged, after which operations were suspended. Full resumption of operations in October 2025. The process technology used in the Datang Fuxin coal-to-natural gas project is exactly the same as that of the coal-to-natural gas project in Keshiketeng Banner, Inner Mongolia.
