The project plans to use the off-gas generated as a by-product of the methanol synthesis plant (approximately 11,500 Nm3/h, with about 55% methane content) as raw material. Through technologies such as MDEA decarburization, purification, and cryogenic separation, methane in this off-gas is separated out and delivered as product gas (natural gas, with an annual output of 50.89 million cubic meters) for sale in the gas distribution network. The hydrogen-rich gas and CO-rich gas produced are sent back to the existing methanol synthesis plant for further recycling. This project was the company’s first EPC general contracting project outside its own group that it won in 2019; it represents a solid step forward in the company’s efforts to expand into external markets, and it also demonstrates the company’s core competitive strengths.
