The Ministry of Ecology and Environment announced on April 23 that it plans to review the environmental impact assessment documents of the coal-to-olefins upgrade demonstration project of Sinopec Great Wall Energy and Chemicals (Inner Mongolia) Co., Ltd. According to the announcement, the project is located in Zhungeer Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with a total investment of 21.887 billion yuan, including 1.604 billion yuan in environmental protection investment, accounting for 7.32% of the total project investment. The project includes main engineering, storage and transportation engineering, public engineering, auxiliary engineering, environmental protection engineering, etc. The main project includes air separation, coal gasification, conversion, acid gas removal, refrigeration and compression, methanol synthesis, sulfur recovery, methanol to olefins, loop polypropylene, gas phase polypropylene, polyethylene, EVA/LDPE, a total of 12 sets of production equipment ； Storage and transportation projects include coal storage circular stockyards, liquid storage tanks, truck loading and unloading crane positions, etc. ； Public auxiliary projects include water supply and drainage, power supply, power station, wastewater temporary storage pool, rainwater monitoring pool and accident pool, flare gas system, etc. ； Environmental protection projects include oil and gas recovery and treatment facilities, odorous gas treatment facilities, sewage treatment plants, wastewater treatment and reuse devices, high salt water treatment devices, waste alkali incineration facilities, hazardous waste temporary storage rooms, etc. The project is constructed based on Bayan Qaidam Coal Mine, coal transportation railway, park water supply pipeline, power transmission line, natural gas transmission pipeline, general industrial waste landfill, gasification ash comprehensive utilization project, new energy project, etc.
