Puyang Yongjin Chemical operates its circulating water system at reduced pressure; the PSA plant promptly formulated a contingency plan. Author/Source: Puyang Yongjin Chemical Co., Ltd. Date: 2021-07-28. Clicks: 60. On July 26, upon notification from the company’s technical department, it was learned that the operation of the circulating water system at reduced pressure could lead to elevated operating temperatures for the mechanical equipment in the PSA unit. To ensure the stable operation of this equipment, the PSA plant carried out periodic temperature checks on a weekly basis for at least 3 days. As of the night shift on July 28 (Chemical Plant No. 3 night shift), 7 temperature checks have been conducted. The temperature measurement points are: the after-cooler of P12201, the after-cooler of B12201, the inter-stage cooler and lubricating oil cooler of K12401, the inter-stage cooler of K12501, the coupler oil cooler, and the oil cooler of P12201. Based on data analysis and temperature difference assessments, there is no impact on the operation of the moving equipment at present; the PSA plant and the chemical processing team will continue to monitor the operational status closely. During this cycle water operation at reduced pressure, the PSA plant not only carried out timely temperature monitoring and inspections but also formulated emergency response plans to prevent excessive operating temperatures in the mechanical equipment; all teams have been trained on these plans.
As a result, this may lead to high operating temperatures for the moving equipment in PSA units. To ensure the stable operation of such equipment, the PSA plant conducts periodic temperature checks on a cycle of at least 3 days.
