Recently, Shaanxi Lean Chemical Co., Ltd. is carrying out a project to produce aromatics on an annual scale of 500,000 tons from coal tar, and the civil construction work for this project in the Shenmu Jinjie Industrial Park is now in its final stages. Equipment such as water supply systems, air separation units, and tank areas are being installed, with 37% of the total investment already spent. Among them, the construction of Boiler No. 1 has been completed, and equipment installation is underway; it is expected to be commissioned in February next year. Using medium- and low-temperature coal tar as raw material, this project employs a combination of full-distillation fluidized-bed and fixed-bed hydrocracking technologies to primarily produce benzene derivatives as well as crude white oil and liquefied gas.
