On October 15, all 5 reciprocating compressors in the ethanol plant of Yushen Energy Chemicals (the regeneration and activation compressor (C–203), the cyclodimethyl ether compressors (C–202A/B), and the cyclomethyl acetate compressors (C–401A/B)) were successfully installed in place. The ethanol plant is equipped with 11 large compressors; 5 of them were installed during this lifting operation. Together with the 2 centrifuges that were already installed earlier and the 2 screw compressors in the refrigeration station, a total of 9 units have now been installed. To date, in the ethanol plant, 44 pumps and motors (out of a total of 96) have been installed aside from the compressors, and grouting work has begun on them one after another. This marks the entry of the plant’s moving equipment into the full installation phase, and it also lays a solid foundation for the subsequent installation of process pipelines as well as electrical and instrumentation systems in the project! Recently, the torch lifting task for Yushen Energy’s 500,000 tons per year coal-based ethanol project was successfully completed. The torch tower is 124 meters tall and weighs 238 tons in total (for the tower and the cylinder). The tower and the cylinder were lifted in 6 sections (11 segments in total). The successful completion of this lifting task has laid a solid foundation for the subsequent construction of the torch. The 500,000 tons per year coal-based ethanol project of Yanchang Petroleum in Yushen utilizes the dimethyl ether carbonylation technology for ethanol production, which was developed jointly by Yanchang Petroleum and the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, to generate 500,000 tons of ethanol annually. The project requires an investment of 6.98 billion yuan and is located in the South Area of Qingshui Industrial Park, Yushen Industrial Park, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province, covering an area of 1,365 mu. Construction of this project officially began on November 6, 2018. It is planned to be completed by mid-2021, with full operation and compliance with standards achieved in 2022. The construction scope includes a methanol complex (units such as coal unloading and storage, gasification unit, shift converter unit, purification unit, gas separation unit, methanol production unit, sulfur treatment unit, etc.), an ethanol plant (units such as dimethyl ether production, carbonylation, hydrogenation, separation, compression, heating furnaces, refrigeration stations, etc.), as well as new construction for utility systems and auxiliary facilities, with a designed capacity to convert 1.22 million tons of coal per year.
