The first phase of Sinopec’s coal chemical project has officially commenced! The project mainly consists of five components: earthwork and rockwork, slope stabilization, foundation treatment, site leveling and waterproofing, and flood control measures. It covers an area of approximately 1.5 million square meters, with about 9.85 million cubic meters of earthwork and rockwork required for site leveling, and around 6.65 million cubic meters of rockwork that needs to be blasted. The total investment is 803 million yuan, and the construction period is roughly 15 months. The completion of the site leveling work will create favorable conditions for the subsequent construction of the project. Guizhou Nenghua’s 500,000 tons per year PGA project is a practical initiative by Sinopec to establish an industrial structure based on \"one core, two wings, and three innovations,\" and it is also a key project under Guizhou Province’s 14th Five-Year Development Plan. Since the start of construction, Guizhou Energy and Chemical Integration Project has advanced work on the overall design, exploration of the area in front of the plant, detailed design for land grading, as well as bidding processes. It has also planned in advance for material procurement and the transportation of large items, continuously improving and optimizing the on-site manufacturing plans to ensure that all tasks are carried out in an orderly manner and on schedule. The company adheres to the principles of prioritizing safety and environmental protection as a foundation, ecological civilization as a basis, and quality and efficiency as top priorities. It focuses on meeting deadlines and accelerating progress by establishing schedules and construction plans, while also intensifying on-site inspections as well as quality and safety oversight, in order to speed up the construction of temporary facilities. To date, 15% of the total work volume for the temporary facility project has been completed. Next, Guizhou Energy Chemical will strictly fulfill its responsibilities as the main entity in charge of the project construction, and accelerate the work related to site leveling and water system management, so as to lay a solid foundation for the construction of the main facilities in the subsequent stages. Sinopec Guizhou Energy Chemical Company was established jointly by Great Wall Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. (with a 99% stake) and Bijie Zhijin New Area Biyun Construction Investment and Development Co., Ltd. (with a 1% stake). The 500,000 tons per year polyglycolic acid (PGA) production project is a key project under Guizhou Province’s 14th Five-Year Development Plan, as well as a model project for Sinopec in advancing cutting-edge coal chemical technologies toward industrial application. It is located in the new energy and chemical industry base in Zhijin County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province. The total investment for the project is approximately 23 billion yuan, of which the investment for the phase II project is around 11 billion yuan. The project has an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of polyglycolic acid; phase II is planned to achieve an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons. In accordance with the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement on Comprehensively Promoting High-Quality Development signed between Sinopec and Guizhou Province, the feasibility study report for the first phase of Guizhou’s 500,000 tons per year polyglycolic acid (PGA) production project was approved by the group company on June 21, 2021, enabling the rapid progress of the project’s construction. The main equipment of the project includes a gasification unit, a deep cryogenic separation and hydrogen production unit, a coupling unit, a PGA unit, and supporting facilities. The main product is PGA, with by-products including sulfur, polyols, dimethyl carbonate, etc. The project is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2024, with annual sales revenue of around 3.2 billion yuan and annual profits of around 8.5 billion yuan. Sinopec Shanghai Engineering serves as the overall project institute
