The construction of the gasification framework foundation for the methanol unit in the first-phase completion project of Yulin Energy Chemical was completed ahead of schedule. Recently, it was reported from the project site that the pouring of the foundation for the gasification framework of the methanol unit, which was carried out under the EPC contract by Beijing Petrochemical Company, was completed, thus achieving the target of reaching the zero-level mark ahead of schedule. The foundation of the gasification framework is in the form of reinforced concrete pile caps; there are 20 such caps in total, with some of them connected by foundation beams. The maximum volume of concrete used is 126.2 cubic meters, which constitutes a case of large-volume concrete pouring. The strength grade of the concrete for the caps is C35, with a total volume of concrete amounting to approximately 1080 cubic meters and a total amount of reinforcement of around 118 tons. Winters in northern Shaanxi are extremely cold, with daytime temperatures dropping as low as minus 10°C. To meet the set deadlines, the staff working on the methanol complex project braved the harsh weather and rushed to complete the work. They planned construction strategies in advance and took active measures to ensure smooth construction during the winter period. During the construction period, the project team organized the construction units in advance to pre-produce the rebar and formwork at an advanced stage, thereby saving time for subsequent pouring. At the same time, measures such as setting up heating shelters and using steam radiators were taken on site to maintain the appropriate temperature for concrete curing; the average temperature inside the heating shelters reached around 17°C, thereby ensuring the quality and safety of the construction work. Meanwhile, the construction of the tank foundations in the methanol intermediate storage area, the foundation for Substation 1 of the methanol complex, the foundation for Substation 2 of the methanol complex, the foundation for the gasification substation, and the foundation for the gasification cabinet room were all completed on schedule, achieving the overall goals set before the Spring Festival.
