The aim of this joint body is to serve as a key force in driving innovation in the field of carbon peak and carbon neutrality technologies in Shanxi. Shanxi is a major province in terms of energy production and greenhouse gas emissions, and it is also heavily affected by climate change. It was the first province in the country to establish a greenhouse gas monitoring network across its territory, accumulating a large amount of data on greenhouse gas monitoring. This innovative consortium will take into account the specific conditions in Shanxi, and by carrying out activities such as interpreting policies and regulations related to carbon peak and carbon neutrality, conducting research on scientific issues and promoting awareness, monitoring and assessing greenhouse gas emissions, as well as providing consulting services for green development, it will establish a long-term mechanism for cooperation in achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality. It will also create strategic platforms for high-level think tanks, platforms for high-quality cooperation and exchange, platforms for the transfer and application of scientific and technological achievements, platforms for training top-tier talents, and platforms for raising public awareness regarding carbon peak and carbon neutrality, thereby providing high-quality, efficient, and precise services to help Shanxi achieve these goals.
