Process Optimization to Improve Efficiency in Jinxiang Coal Chemical Synthesis Workshop Author/Source: Jinxiang Coal Chemical Date: 2022-01-27 Clicks: 13 In recent days, the methanol synthesis workshop at Jinxiang Coal Chemical has, while studying the spirit of a series of important meetings held by the group company, and in line with the requirement set out in the group company’s staff congress report to \"reduce costs and improve efficiency\", achieved improved performance in the methanol production system through process optimization. Previously, the temperature of the low-pressure methanol column in the polyol system of this workshop was controlled at 245±5°C; the night shift staff had to start the circulation pump from time to time to regulate the temperature of the methanol column. This practice resulted in high electricity consumption and was not conducive to the stability of the system. After thorough research and taking into account the ambient temperature as well as the raw gas load from the previous processing stage, adjustments were made over time, and it was found that setting the temperature of the low-pressure methanol tower at 255±5°C facilitated a more stable operation of the system. By optimizing the process parameters, the process indicators have become more linear, which has further reduced power consumption by 6 kilowatt-hours per ton – a concrete measure to achieve cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and quality enhancement.
