The hydraulic test of Boiler No. 1 in the power station facility of Yulin Chemical Company was a complete success. Author/Source: Yulin Chemical Company, Shaanxi Coal Group. Date: 2022-03-31. Clicks: 18. At 13:00, the hydraulic test of Boiler No. 1 in the power station facility of Yulin Chemical Company’s air separation heat and power department began; At 16:01, the pressure inside the boiler’s inner cylinder reached the test pressure of 20 MPa, and this pressure remained unchanged for 20 minutes. None of the 10,136 welds showed any signs of leakage, and all technical specifications met the design requirements; thus, the hydraulic test of Boiler No. 1 in the power station was a complete success. On March 26, the hydrostatic test of Boiler No. 1 in the power plant facility of Yulin Chemical Company was completed successfully, marking the end of the installation of Boiler No. 1 as well as the welding and sealing work on its heating surface systems. With this, all five boilers in the company’s power plant facility have now undergone successful hydrostatic tests. The overall hydrostatic test of the boiler was conducted at 1.25 times the designed pressure of the boiler drum, covering the economizer system, the pipes connecting to the economizer outlet, the water wall, the boiler drum, the ceiling superheater, the encircling wall superheater, the screen superheater, the pipes connecting to the outlet of the final stage superheater up to the hydraulic block valve, as well as the pipeline systems within that range. To ensure the successful completion of this boiler hydrostatic test, the company worked in advance with the construction contractor, carefully preparing a plan for the hydrostatic test of Boiler No. 1. It invited an expert team from the Shaanxi Electric Power Construction Project Quality Supervision Center to the company to inspect and guide the preparatory work prior to the hydrostatic test of Boiler No. 1, as well as to examine the installation of the boiler itself and the relevant documentation. Based on the inspection results, the company held a special meeting to assign responsible persons for making the necessary corrections, determine the corrective actions to be taken and set deadlines for their completion, and urged the construction workers to address each issue on a daily basis to ensure closed-loop management ; Designate specific personnel to work together with the Quality Management Department and the HSE Management Department to carry out daily site clean-ups, ensuring that the non-destructive testing of over 10,000 welds is completed safely and efficiently. Next, the company will develop a detailed work plan to strengthen process control and efficiently carry out subsequent tasks such as boiler pickling and tube blowing, thereby laying a solid foundation for the timely commissioning of the boiler. The 15 million tons per year demonstration project for the clean and efficient conversion of coal into various products, operated by Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd., is located in the Qingshui Coal Chemistry Industrial Park within the Yulin Yushen Industrial Park. The investment in this project amounts to 26.2 billion yuan, and it will be constructed in two phases and four stages. Phase 1 of the project is divided into two stages: Stage 1 involves the construction of an ethylene glycol plant with an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons. The site area for this phase is approximately 4.4 million square meters, and the total investment required is around 26.5 billion yuan. It is currently the largest coal-based ethylene glycol production facility under construction in the world. In the second phase, projects for producing 5.6 million tons per year of methanol, 2 million tons per year of olefins, and for advanced processing will be carried out. Phase II of the project focuses on coal pyrolysis and is also divided into two stages. The first stage involves an industrial demonstration facility for the pyrolysis of 1.2 million tons per year of pulverized coal and the deep processing of 500,000 tons per year of coal tar. In the second stage, the scale of pyrolysis is increased to 15 million tons, and the coal tar industry chain is expanded to produce downstream products derived from aromatics and arylenes.
