In recent days, the Xifenghang compression workshop has actively implemented the company’s initiatives to save energy and reduce consumption, by carrying out various minor improvements, including the replacement of the compressor packing water pipes. It is understood that in this workshop, the compressors experience high filler temperatures due to factors such as thin filler water pipes and low water return volume; nitrogen is often used to flush the fillers, which can easily lead to blockages in the water pipes. When clearing obstacles, sometimes even one section of pipe has to be cut into two or three pieces, which leads to increased nitrogen consumption and more work, posing a risk to the equipment. After discussion in the workshop, it was decided to replace the original pipes as well as the valves. The workshop completed this work during the downtime; with the replaced packing water pipes, the temperature dropped from 40 degrees to 50 degrees to between 20 degrees and 30 degrees, allowing for better control of the process. Moreover, the replaced water pipes and valves are easier to remove and install for maintenance. To date, no blockages have occurred.
